Which format
It depends on the model. Legacy SE300, SE340, SE3000 and Futura read XXX (Singer/Compucon): Broderly opens, shows and converts it but does not yet write it; for these machines, use the bundled Singer software for the final conversion to XXX. SE9180 and SE9185 and recent Singers read several common formats, generally PES, DST, JEF and EXP: check the list in the manual under “file formats” and pick that format in the studio.
Transferring the file
- USB stick on Legacy and SE9180, FAT32, file at the root.
- USB cable and Futura software on Futura XL-400, 550, 580: the machine is driven by the computer; import the file into the Futura software, which converts and sends it.

Frequently asked questions
Does Broderly write XXX?
Not yet: it reads it. If you only stitch on a Legacy or Futura, open and edit your XXX in the studio, export as PES or DST, and do the final conversion to XXX with the bundled Singer software.
