Stitching on Tajima: native DST, heads, needles, machine sheet

DST is Tajima's native format and Broderly was born in a shop running an eight-head Tajima: heads, needles, stops, trims and machine sheet are designed for this machine.

DST

Which format

The DST, Tajima's original format, read by every Tajima and almost every other commercial machine. 512-byte header, stitches in tenths of a millimetre, trims encoded as three consecutive jumps, explicit stops and colour changes. DST carries no colours: needle assignment happens in the Sequence panel and on the large-print machine sheet (hoop, colour order with needle number, stops, stitches, run time).

Frequently asked questions

Why not DG by Pulse?

DG by Pulse is powerful and costly, sold through distributors, and many shops find it impractical day to day. Broderly was built for an eight-head Tajima shop where that was the case: it does the essentials simply and exports a DST the Tajima reads like any other.

More colours than needles

The studio warns you and lets you choose: merge close colours, or insert a machine stop to change a cone.
