About this design
Teddy bear on the moon shows a little bear asleep, curled into the hollow of a crescent moon with its eyes closed and its muzzle resting on the tip. Two stars, one upper right and one lower left, complete the scene. Everything is drawn in soft curves, outlined in dark grey, in gentle cream and beige tones.
At 69 mm square, it sits nicely on a bib, the pocket of a bodysuit or a small cushion for a child's room. On jersey, use a cut-away stabiliser and choose a coloured background, midnight blue or dusty pink, so the beiges of this machine embroidery stand out.
How to stitch it
- Prepare 4 threads: cream, white, beige, dark grey. The names give the closest shade; pick the one you like in your thread brand.
- Hoop the fabric in a 10 × 10 cm hoop with a stabiliser: tear-away for woven fabric (cotton, linen, canvas), cut-away for stretchy fabric (T-shirt, sweatshirt, bodysuit).
- Stitch the colours in this order: cream → white → beige → dark grey. The machine stops at each thread change (3 changes, 18 trims).
- Allow about 15 minutes at 700 stitches per minute, 8,909 stitches in all.
- For another size, open the design in the studio rather than enlarging it on the machine: the stitches are recalculated and the density stays right.
