About this design

Heart outline shows exactly that: a heart drawn in a single even line of raspberry pink, with a small point at the top dip and at the tip. No fill, no extras, just the silhouette, clean and easy to read, in a graphic style that suits baby projects as much as plainer pieces.

At 67 × 60 mm in one colour, it stitches in about two minutes, which makes it handy for a bib, a bodysuit, a pouch or the corner of a tea towel. On knit fabrics, use a cut-away stabiliser and choose a light background so the pink line stands out. A friendly design if you are new to machine embroidery.

How to stitch it

  1. Prepare 1 thread: pink. The names give the closest shade; pick the one you like in your thread brand.
  2. Hoop the fabric in a 10 × 10 cm hoop with a stabiliser: tear-away for woven fabric (cotton, linen, canvas), cut-away for stretchy fabric (T-shirt, sweatshirt, bodysuit).
  3. Stitch the colours in this order: pink. The machine stops at each thread change (0 change).
  4. Allow about 2 minutes at 700 stitches per minute, 1,329 stitches in all.
  5. For another size, open the design in the studio rather than enlarging it on the machine: the stitches are recalculated and the density stays right.
