About this design
Row of hearts places three solid hearts side by side: a large raspberry heart in the middle, flanked by two pale pink hearts set slightly back. The shapes are simple and rounded, with no outline or inner detail, and the two tones alone create a pleasant sense of depth. Its wide format reads like a small border.
That stretched shape works nicely along a tea towel hem, across the front of a bib, or on the flap of a pouch, and it suits a cushion without crowding it. On stretchy knit such as a bodysuit, use two layers of tear-away stabiliser; your machine embroidery will then keep clean edges. A cream background shows the pinks off well.
How to stitch it
- Prepare 2 threads: pale pink, pink. The names give the closest shade; pick the one you like in your thread brand.
- Hoop the fabric in a 10 × 10 cm hoop with a stabiliser: tear-away for woven fabric (cotton, linen, canvas), cut-away for stretchy fabric (T-shirt, sweatshirt, bodysuit).
- Stitch the colours in this order: pale pink → pink → pale pink. The machine stops at each thread change (2 changes, 2 trims).
- Allow about 7 minutes at 700 stitches per minute, 4,114 stitches in all.
- For another size, open the design in the studio rather than enlarging it on the machine: the stitches are recalculated and the density stays right.
