About this design
Cute teapot shows a rounded teapot seen from the side, with its arched handle, its spout and a lid topped by a small knob. The body is striped vertically in white and salmon, and the whole design is outlined in a slightly wobbly dark grey line that gives it a hand-drawn feel. Three colours, 68 × 70 mm: a simple, easy-to-read motif.
At this size it works nicely on a tea towel, an apron pocket or a small kitchen cushion. On linen or a loosely woven cotton, use a tear-away stabiliser underneath so the stripes stay straight. A natural or light grey background brings out the salmon in this machine embroidery.
How to stitch it
- Prepare 3 threads: white, salmon, dark grey. The names give the closest shade; pick the one you like in your thread brand.
- Hoop the fabric in a 10 × 10 cm hoop with a stabiliser: tear-away for woven fabric (cotton, linen, canvas), cut-away for stretchy fabric (T-shirt, sweatshirt, bodysuit).
- Stitch the colours in this order: white → salmon → dark grey → salmon → white. The machine stops at each thread change (4 changes, 26 trims).
- Allow about 19 minutes at 700 stitches per minute, 10,958 stitches in all.
- For another size, open the design in the studio rather than enlarging it on the machine: the stitches are recalculated and the density stays right.
