About this design

Bubbling Cauldron shows a round-bellied black cauldron standing on little feet, with its handle curving to one side. Inside, a light green brew is full of bubbles, and a few round bubbles rimmed with green float up above it. The bold outlines and the white sticker-style border give it a clear, illustrated look that suits Halloween.

At 61 × 70 mm it works nicely on a pouch, a trick-or-treat tote bag or a child's sweatshirt. A light background makes the black and green stand out; choose a medium cotton and a cut-away stabiliser, since the dark area is dense in machine embroidery.

How to stitch it

Prepare 6 threads: dark grey, black, white, dark grey, light green, grey. The names give the closest shade; pick the one you like in your thread brand.
